VANCOUVER, British Columbia – The good news for Microsoft is that all power PCs running Windows Games. The bad news is the old Windows XP operating system.
Windows 7, it seems, was a bit too new to be used, while Windows Vista has been, well, Windows Vista. So instead of all computers with an operating system that was first published in 2002 in Salt Lake City.

Acer has shipped more than 6,000 computers for the Olympic organizers – with all laptops and desktops with Windows XP.
Acer representative confirmed that there are more than 6,000 desktop and laptop computers, which are given to all Olympic organizers with Windows XP.
“It was the operating system requested by VANOC (Organizing Committee of Olympic Games) and Altos Origin (), the management technology integrator for the Olympic Games of high-tech operations,” said Todd Olson, who runs the technology works with Acer in Vancouver.
Profession to be fair, the Olympics tend to be conservative, even in IT. Its mandate has been suppliers’ offers a perfect game “does not sample the latest in new technologies.
And said, as Managing Director of Atos Origin, last week, where were the games, if any were taken from a technology perspective bored – where in sight.
“My goal is to ensure that nothing happens to be informed,” said Olson. ”We are here to be behind the scenes.”
Of the 6200 computers, Olson said he had only a couple of trouble tickets from Tuesday.Perhaps the most interesting incident occurred when the workers’ enthusiasm for the Olympic Games in an Olympic event and stood to cheer, spilling soup all over the laptop. He quickly closed and completed to continue working.
Acer offers the employee will receive a replacement machine, but they decided that if the machine had enough to survive soup, she would not leave him.
“That was the most exciting thing,” said Olson. ”So, how can you say was pretty smooth.” The smile pockets a rattling controversy.
